Wakeboarding @ East Coast Park, Suntec City Fountain Of Wealth

Yesterday morning I was not yet sure what exactly I wanted to do. I had already seen most sights, the weather was nice but too cloudy to be able to enjoy a beautiful view from the Flyer… So I took a look at my guidebook and soon I decided to visit East Coast Park. I was planning to go swimming anyway, and East Coast Park seemed to be a good alternative to Sentosa Island. So I boarded the MRT at Kallang station and went to Bedok where I had breakfast at a food court. This one was even cheaper than the ones I had seen before. At a stall with fried fruits and other sweets, I randomly picked three pastries, one with banana filling, one with a sweet read been filling and the third one was filled with something green and slimy. At the neighboring stall, I bought a Strawberry Ice Kachang, a dessert mad e of crushed ice cubes, fruit syrups, jelly and red beans. I really enjoyed the breakfast worth S$ 3.50 (about 2.3 USD, 1.75€) and headed for the bus station. It took me some time to figure out which bus was the one going to East Coast Park, but luckily Singaporean bus drivers are really helpful and after traveling on the bus for 10 minutes and walking through a residential area for another 10 minutes I finally reached East Coast Park.

The long sandy and crowded beaches lined with palm trees were really beautiful. Impressed by the magnificent scenery, I took dozens of photos walking along the waterline for about an hour. Soon the skyline of Singapore’s CBD appeared in the background and looking towards the sea, I could see hundreds of small and big cargo vessels and tankers waiting to enter the port of Singapore. When I was tired of walking in the blazing sun, I got into the turquoise water and spent their at least 30 minutes, watching the planes flying into Changi Airport and hoping to see an Airbus 380 approach Singapore. Although a planes passed by like every other minute, I didn’t spot a single A380…

Thereafter I went to Ski360° where I experienced the thrill of wakeboarding for the first time. Afterwards I had lunch at a seafood restaurant with a great view onto the sea. I tried sweet and crunchy Fried Baby Squids. As a dessert, I had a delicious mango pudding.

In the meantime, the afternoon had already passed and I went back to my hotel by bus.

Later in the evening, I watched the light show at the Fountain of Wealth – the world’s largest fountain – at Suntec City before I had dinner at a Japanese restaurant at Bugis.
