the Singapore Flyer
Singapore’s skyline is really impressive. All Singaporeans can be proud of what they and the generations before have achieved. The height of the skyscrapers lining the Singapore River and Marina Bay shows how successfully Singapore had been turned into a bustling global business and trade hub from a port village in the matter of a few decades.
To enjoy a magnificent view of Singapore’s skyline, I advise you to take a ride on the Singapore Flyer - the world’s largest observation wheel. It has a height of 165 metres and features 28 fully air-conditioned capsules which have a capacity of 28 passengers each. Since I went there at 10 in the morning two days before the observation wheel’s first birthday on April 15th, I had one capsule for myself. The ride takes more than half an hour and costs a bit less than S§30. And this experience is absolutely worth every single dollar. There’s hardly a better way to enjoy the beauty of Singapore’s skyline. Next to the CBD, the MerLion at the mouth of the Singapore River, the construction site of the Marina Sands Casino due for completion later this year, the Esplanade theatres, the Formula One track, Suntec City, Little India, China Town and the Kallang River, you’ll also be able to see the hills of Malaysia if the sky is clear. As you’ll notice almost everywhere in the citystate, Singapore is still growing - skywards.
The Flyer is located on the southern edge of the Marina City area which was reclaimed from the sea and therefore, it is on the southern edge of the entire island, so it can capture all the good Qi from Asia - a flow of positive energy.
This is a video I made during the first half of the ride:
