From what I’ve experienced so far, I dare say that Singaporean food is the best in the world. Singaporeans love their food and most visitors also enjoy Singapore’s unique cuisine. Eating in one of the numerous hawker centers, food courts, seafood restaurants and food stalls is very affordable, tasty and safe.

Here are some of my favorites:

- Singapore Laksa: a spicy curry noodle soup with coconut milk, prawns, cockles, fishcake, eggs, tofu puffs. There are some variants with chicken instead of prawns.

- Kaya Toast: This is a toast with butter and kaya spread. It’s delicious for breakfast. The Kaya spread is made with eggs, coconut milk, sugar…. It is usually served with coffee or tea (”teh”) and boiled eggs.

- Hokkien Prawn Mee: A spicy noodle dish with prawns, chillies, egg noodles and bean sprouts.

- Popiah: Numerous vegetables like carrots, beansprouts, sliced prawns, chopped boiled eggs, lettuce and a spicy and sweet sauce wrapped into a pancake.

- Ice Kachang: Crushed ice cubes topped with syrups, fruit juices, sweetened beans, milk and jelly. It’s quite sweet and colorful.

- Fried Baby Squids: Crunchy and sweet fried baby squids.

- Mango Pudding & Mango Cake: I love mangoes!

- pastries filled with red bean paste

During my 10-day stay in the Southeast Asian city-state, I’ve eaten local food only - except once. One night I went to Botak Jones at Somerset where “authentic American food” is served. I tried a “Cajun Burger” and “spicy fries”.

Singapore’s cuisine is as diverse as its population. You can eat Chinese, Malaysian, Indian, Indonesian, Perankan, Thai, Japanese, Korean, American, French, Italian, German, British dishes and much more.

Hello, I browsed your site while searching bing for espresso makers. Your blog is really good and I loved the theme. Just thought would let you know that I have subscribed to your rss feed. Also on a couple of pages I also encountered a 404 error and after refreshing a couple of times was able to view the pages. Take Care
