my second day in Tokyo

After spending the last few hours of the day at a traditional Japanese restaurant in the Asakusa area chatting with some locals and drinking Sake, I I wen to bed early yesterday.

Therefore I could get up early today to head to Roppongi in the morning. On top of the Roppongi Hillls towers  (55th floor) there`s an open-air vantage point where I enjoyed a gorgeous view over the center of Tokyo.  Unfortunately I couln`t see famous Mount Fuji because of fog (or smog??) and a few clouds.

Since I was walking for several hours today,  I got a great impression of Tokyo`s street life on of course I tried some delicious Japanese dishes.

Next to Roppongi, I`ve also visited a beautiful Japanese garden squeezed between the skyscrapers of the Shiodome neighborhood and the seashore, as well as the artificial island of Odaiba which is located in the Bay of Tokyo and connected to the city by the gigantic Rainbow Bridge.

After sunset, I went to the Tokyo World Trade Center from where I could see Tokyo`s breathtaking skyline at night.

Before heading back to my hotel in Asakusa I sat down at an izakaya (a tiny restaurant where people from all walks of life come at night to eat, drink and chat - the atmosphere was somehow similar to the one in a pub, just Japanese-style) close to Daimon Station where I ordered a few Yakitori sticks.
